Silk Wool Tsumugi Weave Fabric - Uncut Length for Kimono
I'm helping my mother declutter. This is a bolt of tsumugi fabric she purchased to make a kimono. The basting threads are still attached, so the entire bolt cannot be spread out, but as you can see in the photos, it's wool tsumugi. It contains 4% silk.
She liked the pattern and intended to make a casual everyday kimono with it. I believe she mentioned it was either Tokamachi tsumugi or Okishio tsumugi from Yamagata, but she doesn't remember the details clearly.
If anyone likes the pattern, I'd love to pass it on. It could be used not only for a kimono but also for an obi or as fabric for clothing. I hope someone with a creative spirit will find a use for it.
There is no odor.
